  • WAYS TO GET POINTS
    • Where can I get My Best Buy points?
      • You get points on eligible purchases at Best Buy® stores and Best Buy.com®, along with purchases made with My Best Buy partners and the My Best Buy Online Mall.

        If you are a My Best Buy MasterCard® Cardmember, you will also get points on nearly every purchase made at Best Buy and wherever MasterCard is accepted.

        You can get Bonus points by checking in on the Best Buy mobile phone app when you are in the store.

    • How do I get points for a BestBuy.com purchase?
      • Simply add your My Best Buy member ID to your BestBuy.com account.
    • What is a claim code?
      • The code that you received either from a participating partner or manufacturer lets you claim My Best Buy points. Visit the claim code page to enter your code and claim your points. Your code will be turned into My Best Buy points which will be added to your account immediately.

        My Best Buy points can be converted into reward certificates in different dollar amounts. Reward certificates can be used to buy whatever you want at Best Buy or BestBuy.com.

        You need to be a My Best Buy member to claim and use your points. If you're not a member, it's simple to join. If you are an existing member, sign in to your account.

    • Where do I find My Best Buy claim codes?
      • Claim codes, which can be turned into My Best Buy points, can be found through various promotions with our partners.
    • How do I redeem a My Best Buy claim code?
      • Your code can be redeemed at MyBestbuy/claim

        If you are not a My Best Buy member yet, you will need to join My Best Buy to redeem your code.

    • How do I report missing points if I forgot to show my membership card?
      • You can either report a missing purchase online, e-mail Member Services at mybestbuy@bestbuy.com or call 1-888- BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).
    • Can my family or friends use my membership so I'll get the points?
      • No. Memberships are not transferable and are only valid for use by the person who joined the program.
  • CALCULATION AND TIMING OF POINTS
    • How are my points calculated when shopping at Best Buy or BestBuy.com?
      • You'll get one (1) point per one dollar ($1) you spend at Best Buy or BestBuy.com, excluding any amount spent on non-qualifying purchases. Simply show your membership card or present your phone number during checkout in a store, or enter your member ID for online purchases.
    • Can I get points when I purchase a Best Buy gift card?
      • Yes. You will get points on Best Buy gift card purchases, but not on Best Buy gift card redemptions. Gift card purchases are excluded from all bonus point promotions.
    • How are points calculated when shopping a My Best Buy Partner?
      • Once the partner verifies your purchase(s) for eligibility, your points will post to your My Best Buy account. That typically occurs within 6-8 weeks of your transaction date with the partner.

        The My Best Buy Elite or Elite Plus point bonus does not apply to purchases made from My Best Buy partners.

    • How are points calculated when I use the MBB MasterCard at other retailers?
      • Every $2 spent on eligible purchases gets 1 point. You can also join additional programs to get bonus points on select dining and grocery purchases made with your My Best Buy MasterCard.
    • Do Elite and Elite Plus members get points differently?
      • Yes. Elite members get 10% more points (as compared to My Best Buy members) per $1 spent on qualifying Best Buy purchases; Elite Plus members get 25% more points per $1 spend on qualifying Best Buy purchases. (Bonus points will not be multiplied. Bonus points not awarded for gift card purchases.)
    • What purchases are not eligible for point earning?
      • Non-qualifying purchases include, but are not limited to:

        • Purchases made for resale
        • Purchases paid for with a reward certificate or Best Buy gift card
        • Certain charges and fees, including but not limited to sales tax, state fees, and service charges
        • Commercial purchases
        • Payments made on any Best Buy credit card
        • My Best Buy Credit Card or MasterCard purchases that use promotional credit
        • Other exceptions also apply
    • When can I begin getting points?
      • You begin getting points for qualifying purchases as soon as you join. They become usable 15 days from purchase or time of shipment.
    • When do my points appear on my account?
      • For most eligible purchases, your points will post to your account approximately 15 days from your purchase date, delivery date or shipment date, with these exceptions:

        • Points for purchases made outside Best Buy with a My Best Buy MasterCard post monthly, based loosely on the credit card statement cycle.
        • Purchases made with partners vary based on the offer and partner.
    • Do points expire?
      • If there is no activity on your My Best Buy account for a period of 12 consecutive months, the points in your account (excluding Elite Plus members) will be issued as reward certificates down to the $5 level and any remaining point balance will be forfeited. For example, if you have 300 points, you will receive a $5 reward certificate (250 points) and you will forfeit 50 points.
    • What happens to my points when I return an item?
      • The points you received for that purchase will be deducted from your account. View Program Terms for more information.
  • HELP WITH POINTS
    • What should I do if I think there is an error in the points I've received?
      • If you think there's an error with a My Best Buy partner purchase, please contact the partner directly (see the FAQ below). If it involves a Best Buy store or BestBuy.com purchase, please confirm it was an eligible purchase and that the item wasn't returned at a later date. A refunded item will reduce the points associated with the transaction shown on your purchase history but will not be reflected in the transaction detail. If you have questions, please call 1-888-BEST BUY and have your receipt handy.
    • How do I get credit for a missing Best Buy purchase?
      • You can either report a missing purchase online, e-mail Member Services at mybestbuy@bestbuy.com or call 1-888-BEST BUY.

        Points will post to your account approximately 15 days after purchase.

    • How do I get credit for a missing My Best Buy partner purchase?
      • Please use the following table for what to do next if you don't receive your points from a My Best Buy partner purchase after 8 weeks.
